Recently, I purchased a couple of items from my weight watchers meeting to try. They have come out with these gourmet sauce single packets that you can use in various recipes. I personally tried the Creamy Mushroom Gourmet Sauce Singles and Jalapeno Queso Gourmet Sauce Singles. Each box comes with three sauce packets that can be heated up either in a pan of water on the stove or in a cup in the microwave. It only took 10 seconds to heat them up in the microwave and they were nice and hot! Also, each sauce packet is only 1sp so it doesn’t add much in the way of points to whatever you are making.
With the creamy mushroom sauce, I cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts and sauteed some mushrooms to go with it. The sauce was delicious and had great flavor! I used two sauce packets with four chicken breasts and it was the perfect amount. I counted each piece of chicken w/sauce as 1sp just for the sake of counting, but for the whole thing together, it’s only 2sp so technically it would be less than a point per chicken breast. I definitely will be using this one again!
With the jalapeno queso sauce, I made chicken tacos using shredded chicken breast seasoned with taco seasoning, 1/2c black beans, diced green pepper, diced green onion, and Mission extra thin corn tortillas. I drizzled the jalapeno queso sauce on each taco. It was only 3sp for two tacos! The jalapeno queso was not hot at all, so if you don’t like it too spicy don’t worry, it’s not.
Well, that is all the food finds I have for this week. Hope you all have a great weekend!
