This week has been a difficult week because on Monday evening my 4 year old son started running a fever. In the middle of the night, he woke up vomiting and when I checked his temp again it was over 103. I had to run to Walmart at 3am to get some Motrin, so that pretty much started my day on Tuesday. I got him in to see the doctor and found out that he has a double ear infection. They gave him a shot of antibiotics and sent us home with some oral antibiotics and instructions to alternate Tylenol and Motrin to get the fever down. He has never had an ear infection before so this was new to us. We’ve been struggling to get his fever down and keep him drinking fluids. But thankfully this morning his temp is down to 99 finally and he has been able to keep fluids down.
So it’s been a stressful week and with stress I tend to eat more, especially unhealthy foods. I’ve been off track, but I am determined to not give up. This journey has been very difficult and it’s frustrating because I seem to be stuck in a cycle where I do well for a week or two and then get off track and struggle for a bit, and then get back on track. So to me I feel like I really need to focus on changing some of my habits and break this cycle.
Today I am back to tracking all of my food and I plan to stay on track through the weekend. We are supposed to get another big snowstorm on Saturday so we will be stuck at home. I am so ready for winter to be over so that we can go outside more and be more active. But for now we are mainly stuck inside and I’m going to get back to using my elliptical every day. I know I’ve done poorly for the month of February but I am determined to make March a lot better. I will be working on a post either today or tomorrow to go more in depth about my plan to break the cycle that I’m in and work towards my goals, so check back for that post soon!
